My name is Eric Williams and I grew up in a small suburb just outside of Akron, Ohio. When I was 3 years old I would wake up before my dad every morning just so I could be the first to read the sports section in the Akron Beacon Journal. My love for Cleveland sports has been a part of me for as long as I can remember.
I am currently 22 years old and attending Kent State University in pursuit of a sports administration degree. I am also pursuing a minor in public relations and business and whatever job I get out of college must be sports related. It’s a requirement to me.
The first professional game I attended was a Cavs game back when they played at the Richfield Coliseum. John “Hot Rod” Williams was my favorite player and I actually got his autograph after the game. My dad also took me to see one of the last games at Cleveland Browns Stadium before Art Modell ripped the hearts out of the best fans in the NFL. But my most memorable moment as a young Cleveland Sports fan was the Indians run in 1997. After losing game 7 of the World Series to the Florida Marlins I remember crying myself to sleep that night. From that night on I kind of figured that Cleveland sports were going to be a part of my life for a really long time.
